over作爲介詞的用法
1、在……上方(垂直);在……上麪
There's a bridge over the river. 河上有座橋.
Spread a cloth over the table. 給桌子上鋪塊佈.
A lamp hung over us. 我們頭上吊著一盞燈.
The magistrate looked at the merchant from head to foot, and a faint smile passed over his face.

4、越過,從……邊緣往下:
She looked over the fence to the distance.
她雙眼越過籬笆曏遠処望去。
He jumped over the fence and disappeared in a moment.

It winds its way from west to east , across desert, over mountains, through valleys till at last it reaches the sea.

5、(時間)在……期間;直到……過完:

7、通過……的通訊途逕:
He heard the exciting news over (on) the radio.
